When someone's dying or grieving, getting things in order can be overwhelming, especially if the companies you're dealing with don't understand what you're going through.
At an extremely vulnerable time, too many people end up feeling stuck, faced with untrained staff and poor processes - especially when dealing with banks, telecoms companies and energy providers.
No one should have to spend their precious, limited time and energy wading through piles of admin - tasks sometimes referred to as "sadmin".
That's why we're calling on all UK banks, telecoms companies and energy providers to:
- Enable customers to nominate a trusted person who can access and manage their account on their behalf in the event of a terminal diagnosis or death
- Have a compassionate and well-trained bereavement team
- Provide accessible guidance on the processes involved in closing or managing an account in the event of a terminal diagnosis or death
- Follow a standardised list of documents - so that companies within the same sector do not ask for different/additional documents which are unnecessary
- Allow death certificates to be submitted online
Add your name if you agree that companies need to make sadmin simple.
